Moore & Chenault, PLLC is a law firm based in Flower Mound, Texas primarily representing businesses and their owners in both transactions and controversies. Tom Moore established the Firm in 2004 upon his departure from one of Denton County's largest law firms. He entered into a partnership with the Dallas litigation boutique firm of Blume & Stoddard and opened an office in Flower Mound, Texas as Blume, Stoddard & Moore. The Firm moved to Highland Village in 2006, where it operated under the name Moore, Stoddard & Northam. With the break-up of the Dallas element of the Firm in 2010 and the association of Gilland Chenault in January 2011, the Firm now is known as Moore & Chenault. Jennifer Stoddard and Josh Northam have maintained individual relationships with the Firm, and their expertise is utilized when in the best interests of the Firm's clients. The Firm returned to Flower Mound, Texas in 2011.
Moore & Chenault is designed to deliver excellent service at a fair price. All of the Firm's attorneys have a broad range of experience, and the Firm does not use client matters as a training ground for inexperienced associates. The preponderance of the Firm's new business is derived from continued use by long-standing clients and from referrals.
The Firm's transactional practice includes representing businesses from formations and capitalizations, to key contract negotiations including leases and franchises, to acquisitions and dispositions of assets, real estate, and entire companies, and to exit strategies. When controversies arise for the businesses, the Firm's trial lawyers handle the civil litigation, including contract disputes, collection matters, employment law, and construction law, whether in state or federal court or in the private dispute resolution forums of mediation and arbitration. The Firm represents financial institutions in their secured lending transactions and in the exercise of their remedies in the case of default.
Moore & Chenault also represents individuals in estate planning, probate and estate administration, in business succession planning, and in family law matters. The Firm is expanding its practice in estate planning and estate administration in response to the needs of its clients and referrals.
